Because I was born & raised in Rhode Island, I will always have a soft spot in my heart for this beautiful little state. And it also just happens to be home to some of New England’s most unique wedding venues! The beach is probably the first setting you’d think of when you hear “Rhode Island wedding venues,” but there’s so much more. Historic, rustic, urban—Lil’ Rhody has it all. And with a little digging, you’re sure to find a wedding venue with the exact landscape, vibe, and details you’ve always envisioned.

Here’s a list of my favorites to help you out!

 

Roger Williams Botanical Center

Plainly put, the Roger Williams Botanical Center is stunning. If you want to surround yourselves with lush, luxurious greenery on your big day, and still have the convenience of a central city location with easy parking, this is your place. It has an exotic feel to it, like you’ve stepped into a whole different world. This makes it perfect for more non-traditional couples.

There are awesome photo spots galore, and the greenhouse is large enough to accommodate up to 170 people. With the right florals and decor, you can easily make both your ceremony and reception soooo beautiful and unique. Read more about this incredible venue here!

 

 

Mount Hope Farm

Couples who are looking for that perfect cross between rustic and elegant—this is the venue for you! Located on the gorgeous Rhode Island waterfront, and spanning 127 acres, Mount Hope Farm offers plenty of great options to bring your vision for your dream day to life.

There’s the barn, which is available to rent year-round and features all the cozy charm you’d expect. And then there’s Cove Cabin, which will make you feel as if you’ve stepped into a picturesque woodland retreat. Here, you have access to a sprawling lawn that’s ideal for a quaint outdoor ceremony and tented reception.

Mount Hope Farm has become such a popular venue for couples from all over New England, and it’s easy to see why!

 

Waterfire Arts Center

Industrial-chic is the perfect way to describe this unique Rhode Island venue. The bright, clean, modern aesthetic, coupled with the colorful brick walls and other charming industrial touches, make the Main Hall feel dreamy and romantic. Plus, it’s super versatile—you can easily create the exact vibe you want in this wide-open space, whether that’s simple and elegant with lots of greenery, bold and edgy with bright colors, or something in between.

In addition to the Main Hall, you’ll also have access to the beautiful roof deck, which is the perfect spot for an outdoor ceremony or an urban-chic cocktail hour. The Waterfire Arts Center is a fantastic venue for couples with as much artistic flair as the city of Providence itself.

 

Graduate Hotel

Speaking of creative Providence venues, the Graduate (formerly the Biltmore, located right in the heart of the city) is an amazing place to host a really artful and memorable celebration. Don’t let the word “hotel” deter you—a wedding at the Graduate is far from your average, typical, boring hotel wedding.

If you aren’t familiar with the rich history of the Biltmore, or with all the features that make it a Rhode Island icon, it’s definitely worth digging into. Every detail, from the ornate ballroom to the beautiful staircase to the roof deck (where you’ll absolutely want to stop for sunset portraits), is something you won’t find anywhere else.

 

 

 

 

Fort Adams

Historic Fort Adams is undoubtedly one of the most versatile Rhode Island wedding venues. Located on the Newport waterfront, Fort Adams features six distinct event spaces, giving you the freedom to design your day your way. Maybe you want to keep it cozy and intimate; if this is the case, the Barracks Dining Room, a restored area within the Fort walls, might be perfect for your reception. Or maybe you want a dreamy, romantic evening outdoors; then, the North Lawn is your spot!

Newport, RI weddings are always stunning, but Ford Adams just has that little extra bit of charm and flair.

 

Harbor Lights

If you want those classic coastal vibes, with plenty of opportunity to make your big day unique, you’ve gotta check out Harbor Lights. This beautiful golf club in Warwick, RI features an enormous lawn perfect for an outdoor ceremony or tented reception, a lovely patio, and gorgeous views of the Narragansett Bay. Plus, the venue offers lots of fun activity options (harbor cruise, anyone?) to make your wedding super memorable. 

 

 

Lavender Waves Farm

Rustic weddings are beautiful on their own, but how about a rustic setting bursting with the lovely aroma of lavender? If saying “I do” on a lavender farm sounds like your thing, you’ll want to check out Lavender Waves Farm in Wakefield, RI. One of the newer Rhode Island wedding venues, Lavender Waves, formerly a cow and pig farm, is now transformed into a rustic luxury retreat, and also serves as a private event venue unlike any other in the state.

Imagine walking the lavender fields at sunset, hand-in-hand with your new spouse, or taking a quick break from your reception to hang out with some seriously adorable animals. These are just a few of the awesome experiences you’ll get to have when you get married here!

 

Galilee Beach Club

If you want a wedding that’s laid-back, with an air of oceanfront serenity & elegance – Galilee Beach Club should be on your list of must-tour venues. This venue is located directly on the beach, facing out toward the seemingly endless coastline…so, of course, the views are unparalleled. You’ll find plenty of classic Rhode Island charm and nautical, beach-inspired decor here – it’s an ideal venue for couples who truly love and feel drawn to the Narragansett way of life.

Beachfront ceremonies are the pièces de résistance at Galilee Beach Club. With the waves crashing behind you, you’ll walk down the boardwalk-turned-aisle say your vows under a lovely white arbor. This gorgeous setting makes for a sweet, romantic, and unique wedding ceremony. And later on, when you need a break from boogying on the dance floor, the wide-open shoreline is yours to walk along. Be sure to sneak away at sunset for some stunning beach portraits!

 

 

The Preserve

The Preserve Sporting Club is a place of classic natural beauty. You can hold your ceremony in the lushly landscaped Waterfall Garden (yup, it’s just as magical as it sounds), gather your guests for cocktail hour on the patio, and then dance the night away under the tent on the Main Lodge Lawn. Tucked away in Richmond, RI, The Preserve looks and feels like a peaceful woodland retreat. Like most woodland areas in New England, this venue is especially stunning in the fall, but it makes the perfect wedding backdrop in any season!

 

Linden Place

Historic mansion? Check. Beautiful gardens? Check. Dramatic spiral staircase for portraits? Check. Unique ballroom with a cozy fireplace? Check. Linden Place in Bristol, RI has it all. None of the other Rhode Island wedding venues can truly compare to its unique character and charm. Not to mention, it’s gorgeous in all seasons, and very adaptable so that you can stay true to your vision.

You and your guests will be in awe of all the details that make Linden Place special. This is the Rhode Island venue to choose if you want to create a night people will talk about forever.

 

 

Whispering Pines

Campground weddings are rising in popularity as more couples are opting for fun, casual, intimate, laid-back celebrations. Whispering Pines Conference Center in West Greenwich, RI is the absolute perfect place for one of those! As the name suggests, Whispering Pines is nestled deep in the forest, making it ideal for Rhode Island couples who want their big day to feel like a magical getaway without having to travel too far.

The property features both indoor and outdoor event spaces that can be easily customized. My personal favorite part is the fire pit by the lake. I don’t know about you, but for me, gathering around a campfire and making s’mores is the best way to end any night, and an even cooler way to end your wedding night!

 

Newport Beach House

I couldn’t leave Newport off this list! The mansions are far from your only options when thinking about hosting your wedding in one of Rhode Island’s most picturesque towns. If you envision a big, extravagant wedding, and an all-out, all-night party with spectacular views for your reception, check out Newport Beach House! The venue features several luxurious, upscale event spaces – the perfectly manicured lawn, enclosed in glass panels & directly facing the ocean, on which ceremonies take place in the warmer months; the charming deck, where your guests can marvel at the stunning beauty of the beach while they enjoy their cocktails; and, of course, the epic ballroom, with floor-to-ceiling windows and sweeping ocean views.
