A beautiful, intimate White Mountains wedding at The 1785 Inn

Riven & Matt were married on June 11th in an intimate mountaintop ceremony that was a perfect reflection of their personalities. Their adorable venue, the 1785 Inn in North Conway, NH, was so special and unique because of the spectacular view of the White Mountains. It was my first time shooting a White Mountains wedding – I hadn’t visited this gorgeous region of New England in many years, and I was SO happy to go back!

Prior to their ceremony, the bride and groom shared one of the sweetest and most emotional first looks I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. They had written heartfelt letters to one another, not to be opened until the wedding day. When they finally each read what their partner had written for them, the happy tears started flowing and they embraced each other with so much love.

An absolute blast of a White Mountains wedding!

Riven & Matt put so many unique and creative touches into their day. Their ceremony included two beautiful and unique rituals – a handfasting and the lighting of a unity candle. There were seats reserved in the front row for framed photos of the family members who were no longer with them, but that they still wanted to honor on their special day. Then, later on, after the ceremony, we had so much fun taking “formal” portraits – a word I use very lightly because these two are so goofy!

Riven had the incredibly fun idea to pose with her bridal party in a mock trashy celebrity editorial shoot style, and there were so many laughs the whole time. Later in the day, there was one more big wave of emotion as the bride danced with her dad and the groom with his mom. Their parents could not have been prouder or more supportive of their amazing partnership, and it showed.

It was such a fun and memorable wedding day!
