These two grooms looked incredible for their moody, elegant autumn wedding at Alpine Country Club in Cranston, RI

Joe & Elliot got married on a gorgeous fall day at Alpine Country Club, surrounded by so much love and support from their family & friends. Being on the less traditional and more alternative side, they aimed for a “rich vampire” aesthetic for their big day–grand and glam, with luxury gothic vibes. The grooms’ suits were black and burgundy, and so were many of their details. Unlike many of the weddings I photograph, Joe & Elliot’s wasn’t floral-heavy–instead, they created their desired look with specific color choices, elegant drapery, and moody decor. It didn’t hurt that the ballroom at Alpine Country Club is gorgeous–it was the perfect backdrop for their fun, high-energy party!

Joe & Elliot’s day began with the sweetest first look out on the green. It was so clear that these two are the type of couple who are just overflowing with love for each other. Honestly, that’s one of the main reasons why I love photographing same-sex couples so much–it’s such a joy to be able to properly celebrate a love that was once considered “lesser,” and so the day takes on a whole new meaning and a whole different level of happiness!

Their ceremony was held outside under an arch decorated with linens in the grooms’ signature colors. It was truly beautiful, and it was clear how excited each and every guest was to be there witnessing it.

Before the party began, we hopped into golf carts and headed over to the most picturesque part of the course for portraits. The sun was shining brightly, creating some beautiful effects that really helped to showcase the grooms’ love and connection.

Joe & Elliot’s wedding reception was truly one of the most fun and unique I’ve ever seen! There was just such a strong sense of community in that room. Their guests were given adorable rainbow-striped pins to wear that read “I’m with the groom(s).” Their people of honor gave lovely speeches, gushing about how happy they were that their best friend had found his forever person. 

 

 

And, perhaps one of the coolest parts–Elliot graced everyone with his amazing musical talent, playing 3 songs on the piano–one for all the guests in attendance, one for his mother, and of course, one for his now-husband. The music was set to a slideshow filled with pictures of Joe and Elliot through the years–it was such a sweet touch and a great way to express just how strong and special their relationship is.

 

 

After all the formal events were over, the dance floor opened and the grooms danced the night away with all their loved ones. The energy was awesome! I’d be quite surprised if Joe & Elliot didn’t hear from at least one of their guests that it was one of the most fun weddings they’d ever attended. To top it all off, the evening ended with some delicious late-night snacks.

From their colors and unique decor to all the special events during their reception, Joe & Elliot’s wedding was so authentic and a perfect reflection of who they are as a couple. It was an honor to capture all the joy, excitement and love!
