About New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill  – a beautifully different event venue

Located in Boylston, MA, just 40 miles west of Boston and about 10 miles north of Worcester, New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill is owned and operated by the local Horticultural Society, which was founded in 1842. One notable feature of the venue is its environmental consciousness. All operations–including private events–are carried out with preserving nature & our planet’s health and beauty in mind. If that’s important to you, you’ll definitely want to add NEBG to your list of must-tour venues.

NEBG also partners exclusively with Peppers Artful Events, a catering company certified by the Green Restaurant Association. They’re known for crafting creative, elegant dishes using locally and hydroponically-sourced ingredients – essentially, meals that are as exquisite, beautiful, and environmentally friendly as they are delicious. From the aesthetics to the food, it goes without saying that your guests will have an unforgettable experience at the Botanic Garden!

What makes New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill special?

An ever-evolving landscape

“As a botanic garden, our spaces are always evolving, which makes for a unique backdrop for each wedding,” explained wedding & event specialist Amelia Burton. “One of our most loved spaces is the Orangerie, our 18th century-inspired conservatory with glass ceilings and plenty of lush greenery. This is where we host our wedding receptions. Couples enjoy the romantic atmosphere and the magical transformation that takes place in the space from day to night.”

The team at NEBG understand your desire to express your personalities and make your wedding stand out from everyone else’s, so they’ll help you determine the best season to get married based on your unique vision!

Care for the environment & a focus on sustainability

“The Garden’s mission and that of our partners resonate with couples looking for a more environmentally conscious event,” Amelia shared. “Our ideal clients value plants, nature, and sustainability.” Making environmental consciousness one of the core components of the venue’s brand “draws in clients whose values align with our those of our organization.”

Full service

“[We] offer couples a full-service experience that allows them to bring their vision to life,” said Amelia. “[Our clients] appreciate the natural beauty of the venue and embrace our spaces as the decorative frame for their special event. Our venue isn’t a blank canvas and this is one of the things we think makes it so special.”

Plus, as I mentioned earlier, you can instantly rest assured when you book NEBG that food – one of the most important elements of a wedding for many couples – is already taken care of. While you won’t need much in terms of outside decor, Amelia and her team are happy to recommend other vendors who also share the venue’s values.

Several distinct event spaces

  • The Orangerie: Here’s where you’ll dance the night away under gorgeous glass ceilings (and twinkle lights for added ambiance)! The Orangerie is the space in which most wedding receptions take place. With its unique architecture and lush plant life everywhere you look, the Orangerie truly sets the tone for a magical reception.

  • The Secret Garden: “[This is] where we host a majority of our outdoor ceremonies,” said Amelia. “In the summer months, this garden is beautifully planted with a vibrant and colorful array of annuals and perennials. This garden space includes a lush lawn, fountain, symmetrical staircases, and views of two white pergolas, features that in combination create an intimate atmosphere and the feeling of being surrounded by plants in bloom.”

  • The Lawn Garden: Need a larger space for your outdoor ceremony? The Lawn Garden is perfect! The stunning pergolas and an overall peaceful atmosphere make this sprawling lawn a beautiful spot to say “I do.”

  • The Winter Garden: There are turtle fountains here – need I say more?! In all seriousness, the Winter Garden at NEBG is breathtaking. The space is full of exotic trees and elegant stone features that will make you feel transported to another world. This is a popular space for cocktail hour; your guests will get the chance to take in the lush beauty of the garden.
