If getting married in a harbor town rich with history, charm, and an almost enchanting aura sounds like a dream to you, you’ve gotta check out the House of the Seven Gables—a quaint Salem wedding venue that’s as moody and mystical as it is beautiful and elegant.

The architecture alone makes this venue totally unique, as well as a perfect backdrop for portraits in all seasons. The house, which has been declared a National Historic Landmark, was originally built in the 1600s, and although it’s been restored and remodeled since then, it retains its 17th-century charm both outside and inside. If the interior design features of an old house turned museum really captivate you, like they do for me, you’ll love getting ready here.

Personally, I recommend getting married at the House of the Seven Gables in one of the warmer months, so that you can really take in all that the outdoor spaces on the property have to offer. The beautiful gardens, the Salem Harbor, the other surrounding historic landmarks…Salem really has a vibe all its own, and this venue definitely embodies that vibe.

Plus, you can have a tented reception on the spacious lawn, complete with all the details that reflect your unique personality and relationship—and those are always so fun and memorable.
